Beetroot Juice Lowers The Blood Pressure

Beetroot juice is good in lowering the blood pressure. Daily consummation of a glass of beetroot juice helps in reducing blood pressure by 7%, based on scientific research.

For people with high blood presure, a cup of beetroot juice helps. It lowers the blood presure by about seven percent. This amount of reduction makes beetroot good for those with high blood pressure.

High level of nitrates contained in beets

Through research, it is shown that one of the benefitial effects is high content of nitrates. This naturally occurs at very high level. Nitrates are therfore, found at high level, in beets.

Other sources of nitrates, where it occurs in high level include the leafy green vegetables. Such includes: cabbage, celery, and spinach. They are all high with nitrates

These foods which are high in nitrogen create series of chemical actions within the blood. Their action helps in increasing the supply of oxygen to the body. This supply of oxygen moves to parts of the body, with inadequate supply of oxygen.

The amount of nitrate used in this beetroot study is 0.2 g of nitrate. This is exactly the same level of nitrate,  was the amount of nitrate in beetroot juice used in the study. This equals the same level of nitrate found in a large salad bowl or two beets.

The lead author of the study, who is also a professor of vascular pharmacology, Amrita Ahluwalia, stated: “We were surprised at how little nitrate is needed to achieve such a great impact. Our desire is to increase the intake of vegetables with the high nutritional content of nitrates, such as green leafy vegetables or beets, to become a widespread lifestyle. “

High blood pressure affects lots of people. As much as one-third of people are not even aware that they have high blood presure and are ill. It is one of the major risk factor attributed to heart disease, stroke, and failure of kidney.

Good natural ways to reduce high blood presure include changes in lifestyle, which includes reducing salt and alcohol intake, with more exercise.

High blood pressure is one that exceeds 140/90 mm Hg.

Research on beetroot juice

Eight women and seven men with systolic blood pressure between 140 and 159 mm Hg took part in the new study. Medication was excluded from all. The Participants drank about 250 ml of high or low nitrogen nitrate juice. Blood pressure was measured after 24 hours, according to a report by the American Heart Association.

Beetroot Juice Lowers The Blood Pressure Within 24 hours!

When compared to those who drank water, those who drank beetroot juice decreased systolic blood pressure by about 10 mm Hg. The effect was most pronounced three to six hours after they had drink the juice and fell even 24 hours later.
